Our main mission is to support a network of sewing cooperatives by providing them with work and development assistance. As a Fair Trade business, we take seriously both our social and environment responsibilities. The WFTO Fair Trade standards consist of 10 key principles. As a Guaranteed Fair Trade Enterprise, we are regularly audited against these principles in order to keep our Certification.

What does it mean?

The goal of our business is to support local township communities by creating opportunities and on-going economic activity. We source our eco-friendly fabrics locally in Southern Africa  and we pay the cooperatives a fair price for their quality work. The labour content of our products is between 20 to 30 %, much more than the standard rate in the textile industry. Continuous improvement is part of our culture and with WFTO support, we constantly re-assess our impact and work processes.

Our business set up enables the women to work close to home, therefore saving transportation time and costs. All our products are made from sustainable fabrics.

The current crisis is forcing us to adapt: since May, we have launched a new mask offering, shifted our B2B business to e-commerce platforms and are redefining our support to the cooperatives in order to help them to be more sustainable!
